Terms of service

These terms govern your use of maisonsera.co.nz and any purchase you make from us, whether of a service or a physical object. By placing a booking or an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Maison Sera is a trading name of LC Commerce Limited, a company incorporated in New Zealand (NZBN 9429053545749). Registered office: 14 Castor Bay Road, Castor Bay, Auckland 0620, New Zealand.
In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to LC Commerce Limited trading as Maison Sera. "You" refers to the person placing the booking or order.
1. Scope of these terms
Maison Sera offers two distinct categories of purchase:
- Services. In-home anti-slip bathroom treatments, performed within the Auckland region of New Zealand. Governed by Part A below and the Return and Refund Policy.
- Products. Physical objects for the home, including bathware. Governed by Part B below, the Shipping Policy, and the Return and Refund Policy.
Where a section refers only to one category, it says so. All other sections apply to both.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least eighteen years of age and legally capable of forming a binding contract to place a booking or order with us. If you place an order on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.
You agree to provide accurate information at checkout, including your name, delivery address, and contact details. We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate information you provide.
3. Prices, currency, and payment
All prices are listed in New Zealand dollars (NZD) unless otherwise stated. Australian dollar pricing, where shown, is indicative and converted at checkout.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is included in displayed prices for New Zealand customers. Australian customers may be charged GST under Australia's low-value imported goods rules, applied at checkout.
Payment is taken in full at the time of booking or order, by card via Shopify Payments. We accept all major cards processed by Stripe. We do not store card details.
Part A: Services
A1. The service
We perform an anti-slip floor treatment on tile surfaces in residential bathrooms within the Auckland region. A standard treatment includes:
- Surface preparation of the treated area
- Application of an anti-slip treatment to tile surfaces
- Before-and-after photographs of every treated surface
- A walkthrough of the result before we leave
The same inclusions apply to every variant. Shower, Bathroom, or Add Bathroom. Regardless of price.
Specific performance characteristics of the treatment, where claimed, are those stated on the product page or in writing at the time of booking. Where no specific performance characteristic is claimed, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply.
A2. Booking
You book a treatment by selecting a variant and a time slot at maisonsera.co.nz. Once payment is received, you will receive a booking confirmation with the date, time, address, and a calendar invitation. We require a minimum of three days between booking and the appointment date.
A3. Service area
We currently operate Auckland-wide. If you book from outside Auckland and we cannot service your address, we will refund you in full within five business days.
A4. What we need from you
To deliver the treatment, we ask you to:
- Provide accurate property details at booking, including bathroom location, access notes, and parking.
- Ensure the bathroom is clear of personal items and the floor is dry on the day.
- Provide an adult over eighteen on-site for the duration of the visit, or pre-arrange access if you cannot be there.
- Tell us in advance if the treated surface is over fifty years old, has visible cracks, or has been previously sealed with a coating. These conditions can affect treatment performance.
A5. What we will do
We will arrive within the agreed window, in uniform, with identification. We will work cleanly and leave the bathroom tidy. If we cannot complete the treatment for any reason on the day, we will discuss your options before we leave. See the Return and Refund Policy.
A6. Service limitations
The treatment is designed for ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and most engineered tile surfaces. We cannot guarantee performance on heavily damaged tile, tile previously sealed with an incompatible coating, or surfaces under fifty centimetres from a heat source. We will assess on arrival. If your bathroom is not a candidate, we will refund you in full.
We do not perform treatments on commercial premises, swimming pools, public buildings, or wet rooms outside residential bathrooms. For those, please contact us separately.
A7. Service guarantees
Any specific guarantee about the performance of the treatment, including any durability period, is the one stated in writing on the product page or in your booking confirmation at the time of purchase, and only that one. Where no specific guarantee is stated, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand) apply.
Nothing in this clause limits or excludes any non-excludable statutory right you have as a consumer.
A8. The no-damage promise
The treatment is intended to bind to the tile surface without etching, discolouring, or visibly modifying its appearance. If the surface is visibly altered as a result of our treatment, we will work with you to put it right at our cost, by restoration or replacement of the affected tiles.
A9. The no-upsell promise
We do not sell, refer, or take commissions on adjacent products. Grab rails, lighting, mobility aids, or any other safety product. The twenty-minute safety review at the end of the visit is provided as part of the service, not as a sales mechanism.
A10. Cancellation and refunds (services)
See the Return and Refund Policy for the full terms. In short: free cancellation up to forty-eight hours before your appointment, non-refundable within forty-eight hours. If we cancel or reschedule for any reason, you incur no penalty.
Part B: Products
B1. Orders and acceptance
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We accept your offer when we send you a dispatch confirmation. Until then, we may decline an order without liability, including where stock is unavailable, where a price was incorrectly displayed, or where we suspect fraudulent activity.
B2. Product descriptions
We describe each object in detail and photograph it accurately. Natural materials such as oak, brass, and bronze vary in grain, tone, and patina. Small variations between the photographed example and the object delivered are part of the work, not a defect.
B3. Title and risk
Title to the goods passes to you on full payment. Risk passes to you on delivery. If you choose to nominate a safe place or authorise delivery without signature, risk passes when the carrier records the delivery as completed.
B4. Shipping
We ship within New Zealand and to Australia. Estimated delivery windows, freight charges, and any threshold for complimentary delivery are set out in the Shipping Policy. International shipping outside Australia is available on request and quoted individually.
B5. Returns and refunds (products)
You may return an unused, unopened object in original packaging within thirty days of delivery for a refund. Personalised, installed, or modified items are final sale. The full process and exceptions are set out in the Return and Refund Policy. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
B6. Product warranties
Each object carries the warranty stated on its product page or accompanying documentation. The warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal residential use. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, alteration, chemicals, abrasion, or installation contrary to our instructions.
B7. Installation
Where an object is supplied without installation, you are responsible for engaging a competent tradesperson and complying with any applicable building or plumbing standards. We are not liable for losses arising from improper installation.
Common terms
4. Intellectual property
All content on maisonsera.co.nz, including text, photography, product designs, the wordmark, the brand name, and the underlying code, is owned by LC Commerce Limited or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, modify, or use any of it for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Personal browsing, screen-capture for private use, and short editorial citation with attribution are permitted.
5. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy. By placing a booking or order, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described there.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the website to transmit unlawful content, attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with operation, or use automated systems to harvest data. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms.
7. Consumer protection
New Zealand
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Where you acquire goods or services for personal, domestic, or household use, those statutory guarantees apply in full. Any written warranty we provide is in addition to those rights, not in place of them.
Australia
For customers in Australia, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with a booking, an order, or the use of maisonsera.co.nz is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant service or product. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive losses.
Nothing in this clause limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under New Zealand or Australian law.
9. Dispute resolution
If you are unhappy with any aspect of a service or product, email us at max@lccommerce.com. We will respond within two business days and aim to resolve any issue within ten working days.
If the matter is not resolved, New Zealand customers may refer it to the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealand or to the Commerce Commission. Australian customers may refer it to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) or the relevant state fair trading authority.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place a booking or order applies to that purchase. The current version is always available at maisonsera.co.nz/policies/terms-of-service.
11. Severability and assignment
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. We may assign these terms to a successor in the event of a sale or restructure of the business. You may not assign your rights without our consent.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. The New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law for customers based in Australia.
